Bodella
Care guide
Looked after, an upholstered piece stays handsome for many years. A little regular care goes a long way — here's how to keep your Bodella at its best.
Every week or so
- Give it a gentle vacuum with the upholstery brush attachment to lift dust before it settles into the fabric.
- Plump and turn the two scatter cushions, and rotate where you sit, so everything wears and softens evenly.
Spills and marks
Act quickly: blot — don't rub — with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside of the spill inwards. Avoid soaking the fabric. For anything stubborn, resist the urge to scrub; a professional upholstery clean is far kinder to the cloth, and we're always happy to advise.
Light and position
Keep it out of long spells of direct sunlight where you can. Every fabric fades in time, and strong sun simply speeds it up.
By fabric
- Velvet: brush the pile gently in one direction now and then. Pressure marks and shading are part of velvet's character and usually ease with a light steam.
- Linens and weaves: natural cloth relaxes and creases a little with use — that's normal and part of the look.
- Your own fabric: if you supplied the cloth, follow the cleaning code from its maker.
